The World Rugby Museum and Stadium Tours

The World Rugby Museum is the ultimate visitor experience for the world rugby enthusiast.

Twickenham is the home of England rugby and also the World Rugby Museum, the finest collection of rugby memorabilia in the world. The Museum opened in 1996 and takes visitors through the history of the sport from its origins to the present day.

More than just a collection of interesting artefacts, the World Rugby Museum is an inspirational journey through the history of the ultimate team game.

My Twickenham

The World Rugby Museum presents a new exhibition called “My Twickenham” which aims to present the world famous Twickenham Stadium in its entirety, from what goes on in the dressing room on a match day, to who turns off the lights on a week day.

The exhibition is the first time a large sporting venue and organisation has been the subject of an exploratory exhibition of this kind. Among other things, Visitors will see images of the people, places and facilities that operate at Twickenham on a match day.

Object of the month - Carved Russian Bear

May 2012 Object of the Month

For May’s object of the month we have chosen one of the more unusual items in our collection. This carved wooden bear was a gift given by the Russian Rugby Union to the England XV team on the occasion of their game on the 7th of September 1991.

Twickenham Stadium South Stand

Planning Your Visit

Stadium Tours depart from the Rugby Store in the South Stand.

You are advised to book your tour in advance.

Spaces may be available on the day; please telephone 020 8892 8877 to confirm.

Visitors should check in at the South Stand Rugby Store to purchase Stadium Tour and Museum-only tickets. Stadium Tours will depart from the South Stand and finish at the World Rugby Museum.

If you arrive early and would like to view the Museum before the Stadium Tour, please be forewarned that you will have to walk between the two sites and return in time for the Stadium Tour. It is most convenient to visit the Museum at the end of the Stadium Tour.

All visitors are welcome to park for free in the Main Car Park, where our security officers can direct you upon arrival.

*Larger pre-booked schools and tour groups should check in at the World Rugby Museum, located in the East Stand, as per your instruction by telephone or email. These tours will conclude at the South Stand Rugby Store; it is therefore recommended that groups wishing to view the Museum at leisure arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the tour's departure time.

February 2012 object of the month

As the Six Nations continues throughout March, we have chosen this programme from the England v Ireland match at Twickenham in 1910 as our object of the month.

February 2012 object of the month

This month sees the beginning of the Six Nations Championship, and to mark this we have selected an important object relating to the history of the tournament as our object of the month.

November 2011 object of the month

This month’s featured object celebrates Rugby World Cup 2011 finalists New Zealand and France. The show-down on October 23rd at Eden Park was the 51st meeting between these two teams, and the sixth during a World Cup.
